The SLES for SAP Applications HA Deployment and Configuration (SLE311v12) course covers the configuration and high availability (HA) deployment of SLES 12 or later to host the SAP applications on an SAP landscape. The course focuses on best practices and hands on experience in deploying SLES for SAP across Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) and SUSE Linux Enterprise High Availability Extension (HLA).
The course begins with an overview of the SAP Netweaver platform and the overhead associated with configuring each of the components. It then delves into the architecture of SAP Netweaver as well as configuration of the components related to SAP, such as the HTTP and JAVA services.
The course also introduces the concept of configuring load balancing for different SAP services such as message server, dialog instance, dispatcher and application server. It explains the structure of the ASADMIN configuration file, including user management, application server configuration and resource management.
The installation of the High Availability extended cluster on SLES for SAP and integration with the Oracle databases is also covered. You will learn how to configure and maintain message server failover and watch the dialog and dispatcher resources & processes function.
At the end of the course, you will be capable of deploying and configuring SLES for SAP applications HA and perform activities such as configuring shared memory, verifying the configuration, and troubleshooting the cluster.
